Mosquitoes are preferentially attracted by infected birds , particularly those with chronic infection, 
That choice is independent of the infection status of the mosquito.

Following exposure to mosquitoes , chronically infected birds exhibits parasitic outbreak , 
resulting in an increase in the prevalence of infection in mosquitoes .
